Amazon submits last-minute bid for TikTok amid US Ban threat

According to the report, Amazon submitted its offer in a letter to officials involved in the ongoing negotiations over TikTok’s sale, a process driven by US national security concerns. However, sources close to the talks suggest that Amazon’s bid is not being taken seriously by key parties.

The most likely resolution, reports indicate, would involve existing US investors in ByteDance rolling their stakes into a newly formed, independent global TikTok company.

Additionally, major US investors such as Oracle and Blackstone are expected to participate in the deal to reduce Chinese ownership. Oracle, which already hosts much of TikTok’s US operations on its servers, is seen as a frontrunner, particularly given that its chairman, Larry Ellison, is a close ally of former President Donald Trump.

Despite concerns over a potential US ban, Trump has expressed confidence that a buyer will emerge before the Saturday deadline. He is set to meet with senior White House officials on Wednesday to discuss possible solutions.

With over 170 million American users, TikTok remains under intense scrutiny from US lawmakers. A law passed last year requires ByteDance to either sell the app or face a ban, citing national security risks associated with its Chinese ownership.

While Amazon’s bid has shaken up the negotiations, industry experts remain skeptical about its chances of success.

Kanye West confirms Bianca Censori left him as he reveals reason why

Kanye West has dropped a hint that his wife Bianca Censori has left him after two years of marriage.

The rapper confirmed speculation that he and his wife Bianca Censori are no longer on the same page after two years of marriage in his song, “BIANCA,” from his forthcoming album WW3.

In the single’s lyrics published by Genius April 2, Kanye pleas for his now-estranged wife to return on the heels of his recent controversial social media posts.

“My baby she ran away,” Ye raps, “But first she tried to get me committed / Not going to the hospital ’cause I am not sick I just do not get it.”

He adds, “She’s having a panic attack and she is not liking the way that I tweeted / Until Bianca’s back I stay up all night I’m not going to sleep / I really don’t know where she’s at.”

Kanye’s latest song comes nearly two weeks after he fueled breakup rumors with a cryptic message about heartbreak.

“When you look at that betrayal list I realized I was just a part of peoples strategies,” he tweeted in part. “I took the word love to mean love when it really meant I love the opportunity.”

Ye continued, “I make decisions from my heart and mind. So when my heart is broken it breaks my mind too. That’s why I drank Henny to go to the awards that night. Just too many slaps in in the face.”

He accompanied the message with a screenshot of a redacted text exchange, saying he “would sign” something and saying he doesn’t “care” about the “terms proposed.”

Ye allegedly texted, “Just like to see people fulfill their dreams so they can s–t on me later.”

The “Runaway” musician also fueled divorce rumors by wiping his Instagram and reportedly unfollowing Bianca.

While his new album is believed to have been released today (April 3), WW3 isn’t currently available on music streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

7 dead after boat carrying migrants capsizes near Greek island of Lesbos

At least seven people have d!ed, including two children, after a boat carrying migrants from Turkey to a nearby Greek island capsized, Greece’s coast guard said Thursday.

A search and rescue operation off the northern coast of the island of Lesbos recovered the bodies. The coast guard said 23 people have been rescued.

Turkey’s state-run media said the incident was attended by the Turkish coast guard after a rubber dinghy sank in the Aegean Sea between the Turkish mainland and Lesbos. Those rescued were taken to a hospital and the search continued, Anadolu news agency said

Weather in the area was reported to be good, and it was unclear what had caused the boat to overturn early Thursday morning.

There was no immediate information on the total number of people who had been on the boat, their nationalities, or the type of vessel they had been using.

A sea and land search and rescue operation was continuing, with three coast guard vessels, an air force helicopter and a nearby boat searching for potential further victims.

Greece is one of the main entry points into the European Union for people fleeing conflict and poverty in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, with many making the short but often treacherous journey from the Turkish coast to nearby Greek islands in inflatable dinghies.

”I am holier than you. I have impacted the society more than you”- Lizzy Anjorin tackles gospel artiste Tope Alabi after she refused to perform at her surprise birthday party

Actress Lizzy Anjorin and gospel singer, Tope Alabi, are currently at loggerheads after the singer refused to perform at a surprise birthday organized for Lizzy.

The actress turned a year older and her fan club collaborated with her husband to surprise her with a performance from gospel artiste, Tope Alabi, whom they said she ‘loves dearly.’

The gospel singer and Soji Alabi, her husband, arrived at Lizzy’s clothing store in Lagos but declined to perform when they discovered the purpose of their visit. As the news filtered on social media, users gave several possible reasons the singer failed to honor Lizzy with a performance.

Anjorin later addressed the incident on Instagram, stating that she couldn’t blame the Alabis for their decision. She criticised her fans for spending money on the failed surprise party instead of supporting her business.

“I don’t celebrate birthdays, only a wicked person would claim I do. I’m not in a position to judge their reaction, but if I had invited them myself, I wouldn’t have paid them anything” she said

In another video she shared, Lizzy further said that the singer cannot portray herself as someone who is holier than her, Lizzy. She went further to ask what impact Tope has made with her many years of singing as a gospel artiste.

‘’I am holier than you, AUnty mi Tope. If we are to ask what is your impact in the society?  I am holier than you. I have impacted lives than you. I have e,powered lives than you. If you say you have empowered people, they are people who fed off you, not people in the society. I have done more good , I have added more value to the society than you. Aunty mi, If I should count them all, it will take more than a year. I have done beautifully well. I am pure. If you judge me, I am thankful that God does not judge me”
