Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM1, has completed and returned the family’s official lineage data form, according to Otunba Abdulateef Owoyemi, the chairman of the Fusengbuwa royal house in Ijebu Ode and past president of ICAN.
Speaking on Wednesday, December 10, Owoyemi clarified that the lineage form allows candidates for the throne to trace their ancestry back seven generations. According to him, this is done to ensure that only legitimate members of the Fusengbuwa reigning house submit their names and to stop outsiders from seizing the throne.
According to Owoyemi, the ruling house has scheduled an urgent meeting for Thursday at Ile Nla, the family home in Ijebu Ode, to talk about KWAM1’s desire to succeed Awujale in Ijebuland.
He pointed out that a person can apply for the “expression of interest” form if it is shown that they are a legitimate member of the reigning house.
The family granted KWAM1 an additional five days, ending on Wednesday, December 10, even though the formal deadline for gathering forms was Friday, December 5. Owoyemi further stated that the first stage for anyone wishing to run for the Awujale seat, which became open in July following the death of 91-year-old Oba Sikiru Adetona, is completing the lineage form.
to genuinely be a member of the ruling house Otunba Akinola Odedina, the chairman of the Jadiara ruling house, expressed disapproval of the Fuji legend’s genealogy claims and discussed the singer’s chance to demonstrate his ancestry.
Odedina stated in a letter that was posted online:
“I can clearly say that Wasiu has no family link with the Jadiara royal house. The Fusengbuwa chairman may have given him a nomination form, expecting him to prove his roots. We have waited for him to bring documents linking him to the Jadiara house, but he hasn’t come forward.”
Additionally, KWAM1 and his father are not members of the Bubiade royal family, according to Alhaji O. B. Yusuf, chairman of the family.
He said:
“We don’t have any Anifowose in our family. We have been waiting for him to show documents that prove he is from Bubiade, but he hasn’t done so. I have to speak up because rumours are flying around that I signed Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose’s family membership form.”
