Given that it took him years to achieve his current level, Nigerian musician John Saviours Udomboso, better known by his stage name Young John, has pleaded with critics not to discount his skill and diligence.
Young John made the plea after receiving harsh criticism lately, with some admirers calling him “monotonous.”
In response, the singer-turned-producer asked his detractors to disregard his work rather than criticize it.
“If you’re not a fan of my work, leave it at that! Don’t come here and water down my years of hard work!” he wrote on his X page.
In 2010, Young John started working as a producer, and his connection to Olamide’s YBNL family helped him become well-known.
After he signed a recording contract with Chocolate City in 2022, he began singing.
Young John’s status as a singer was further enhanced by the Davido remix of his tune Dada, which became an immediate hit.
