The well-known Nigerian musician Kizz Daniel, whose real name is Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, has refuted a widely circulated rumor that a court had frozen his personal and commercial accounts due to a disagreement over a contract.
According to the report, which went viral on social media, the Buga hitmaker’s accounts with Access Bank were frozen by a court order and he was ordered to pay €200,000 in damages for not showing up for a gig even though he had been paid $50,000 in advance.
Kizz Daniel’s team said in a statement issued on Thursday, September 25, 2025, that the claim was untrue, deceptive, and an intentional attempt to damage the artist’s reputation.
“Kizz Daniel has no such case in court, and no accounts have been frozen. We urge fans, partners, and the general public to disregard this fabricated story,” the statement partly read.
The singer’s crew stressed that the artist is still focused on his music and future performances and promised to pursue legal action against those responsible for the false report.
The team pointed out that the singer has previously been the subject of unfounded rumors, but his management maintains that these diversions won’t stop him from providing his fans across the world with high-caliber songs.
They remembered that Kizz Daniel’s name, image, and likeness, along with those of other musicians, were actively used by the promoter of Afrobeats Meets Berlin 2022 to sell tickets and generate excitement for a festival that never materialized.
Kizz Daniel was prepared to perform, the statement continued, but the promoter “failed to uphold his own obligations.”
