At a religious gathering in the UK, gospel singer Gaise Baba met with Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and his wife, Folu.
The gathering takes place weeks after the cleric acknowledged the gospel Afro-fusion performer during RCCG’s 73rd annual convention by playing his rendition of the traditional hymn “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.”
A video from the convention also showed the singer’s emotional response when Pastor Adeboye gave the church choir permission to sing Gaise Baba’s rendition.
A beaming Gaise Baba posted a photo of himself on his knees welcoming Adeboye on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
The moment Adeboye’s wife touched the gospel singer’s head in prayer was captured in another photo. Gaise Baba responded to the unique occasions by indicating that his music genre, “Afrogospel,” was being accepted.
In a caption, he wrote:
“Follow God; e get why Afrogospel – God is in this!”
According to Gist 9ja, Gaise Baba was criticized for his song “No Turning Back,” which featured Lawrence Oyor, another gospel musician. The goals behind Gaise Baba’s current gospel hit were denounced by Pastor Kesiena Esiri of The Remnant Christian Network (RCN) in Warri, Delta State.
According to Esiri, gospel singers shouldn’t use evangelism and Jesus as a pretext to become more worldly in the name of cultural change.
“I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” was the initial title of Gaise Baba’s No Turning Back, and he pointed out that it was based on the death, blood, and tears of people. View photos from Gaise Baba’s visit with Pastor Adeboye and his spouse by sliding through the post below:
