Terry G, also known as Gabriel Oche Amanyi, is a seasoned Afrobeats artist who has promised never to stop performing.
The 39-year-old said that rather than give up music, he would prefer to embrace his status as an emerging artist.
He made this statement in response to those who accused him of using social media to gain influence.
Terry G commented, “I completely embrace being seen as an upcoming artist,” on his X handle. Only when you retire do you become a legend, and I’m never going to retire. Let me be if you see me pursuing influence.
In the 2010s, Terry G spearheaded the “Street-hop” style of ghetto-influenced music, which included hits like “Free Madness,” “Sangalo,” “Akpako Master,” and “Run Mad,” among others.
