Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna’s younger sister, Ruth Otabor, passed away.
A statement issued by Eko Solicitors & Advocates stated that Ruth died on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at around 6:30 a.m.
With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st day of August, 2025, at about 06:30 hrs,” the statement read.
The family also stated that they are in mourning and would value a private time to grieve for Ruth.
Only a few weeks before, Ruth had been in a terrible accident. On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, she was struck by a truck operated by the Dangote Group close to Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, and her leg was amputated. According to witnesses, a bystander stopped the heavy-duty truck after it had broken her leg.
Just six days prior to the catastrophe, Ruth had received her degree from Auchi Polytechnic. Her followers and family are devastated by her untimely death.
