Morayo Afolabi-Brown, a Nigerian television host, has talked candidly about her battle with depression and thoughts of suicide.
In an open interview with Chude, Brown, who just stepped down as presenter of TVC’s Your View after 12 years, revealed that she felt stuck in her career, which caused her to become melancholy.
She added that until last year, when she started to have clarity, she had long harbored thoughts of leaving and going to the next level, but she was unsure of how to approach it.
“I was depressed. At a point, I was suicidal. I walked on the express, hoping a car would hit me. It was that bad.
“It was when we [TVC] were ten years that I knew that it was time [for me] to go to the next thing. I have been harbouring that thought for a while but I didn’t know how to go about it. But last year, I got that light-bulb moment,” she explained.
