A Nigerian man has taken to the internet to offer some advise he recently got from his lawyer on auto paperwork.
According to him, his attorney cautioned that Nigerian police officials are not legally permitted to ask drivers for specifics about their vehicles.
According to him, the attorney informed him that the only people with the authority to examine such documents are Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs), who are the officials wearing white uniforms.
The speaker emphasized that a court decision has supported the idea that even FRSC personnel shouldn’t be provided automobile details.
“Many police officers only intimidate drivers into showing documents because most people are unaware of their rights,” he reported his lawyer as stating.
