Hilda Baci, a Nigerian celebrity chef and holder of the Guinness World Record, is making history again. Hilda returns with an even greater task just two years after her world-famous 100-hour Cook-a-thon set a record.
In collaboration with the well-known culinary brand Gino, the chef will try to prepare what she describes as the largest pot of Jollof rice ever cooked on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Hilda said she had been thinking about the accomplishment for over two years when she announced the idea on Instagram.
She stated:
“Almost two years ago I had the dream to cook the largest pot of Jollof Rice ever made. And now, with ginonaija and YOU, that dream is coming alive.”
According to her, the pot would be six meters broad and six meters tall, a size that has left many fans in awe at the difficulty.
Hilda characterized the challenge as a cultural celebration of West Africa’s most famous dish in a video that was published with her post.
She said: “This year, it’s Jollof, the heartbeat of West Africa. A taste that tells our story. It’s more than cooking. It’s a celebration of our food, our culture, music and us.”
