
Adaeze Eluke, a movie actress, has joined the rising protest over a video that went viral and showed a female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra state being brutally assaulted.
The disturbing incident was captured in a video that went viral on social media on Tuesday, August 19. It showed armed men who were thought to be from the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, also known as Operation Udo Ga-Achi, storming a corps members’ lodge and attacking multiple corps members, including Jennifer Edema Elohor.
Despite using her NYSC identification card to prove her identity, the video showed the vigilantes beating, stripping, and physically abusing Jennifer Elohor.
According to additional reports, the vigilantes continued the attack even after the corps members presented their official IDs and uniforms, accusing them of participating in computer fraud, also known as “Yahoo Yahoo.”
The victims endured physical attack as well as dehumanizing verbal threats, including the threat of sexual harm.
Adaeze Eluke responded to the widely shared video by expressing her anger at the cruel treatment.
