Omah Lay has caused controversy in the Nigerian music industry by accusing a fellow artist of stealing the idea for his album.
The Boy Alone crooner revealed images of his conversation with Rema, explaining his ideas that appear to have been incorporated in the Ozeba crooner’s record, despite the fact that he did not specifically identify the artist’s name.
In a recent interview with Zach Sang, he confessed that an artist he respected and partnered with stole his idea, causing him to recreate his entire record.
He said:
“I had to go back and remake my album, which is going to be the greatest album of all time in Afrobeats history.”
In his burner account, Omah Lay shared a conversation with Rema in which they agreed to work together on a project. Omah Lay claimed that he had shared his vision with this artist, who just four months later released an album with a similar concept.
The Soso crooner felt that this experience ultimately led him to create something groundbreaking.
