Peller, a well-known figure on TikTok, has complained about the high taxes that the Lagos State Government is purportedly imposing on him.
Peller said that the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service had requested N36 million in income tax from him during a recent livestream that included musician Peruzzi.
Taskforce advised me to pay N36 million in taxes. I have nothing at all. “I only gained attention last year,” he bemoaned.
“Why haven’t you paid your taxes? Do you know you’re supposed to pay tax as a Nigerian? Do you know how much I pay as tax? I won’t mention it here but it’s more than the tax bill they gave you,” Peruzzi said.
To avoid going to jail, the singer suggested that he pay the tax bill.
However, throughout any of his TikTok live sessions, Peller emphasized that the government had never given him a present and claimed that the tax bill was ridiculous.
Additionally, he said that because he displayed his wealth and disclosed his TikTok earnings, the government is taxing him.
Peller argued that he earns his money from social media and not Nigeria, despite Peruzzi’s plea for him to be given more time to work out the tax obligation.
