It has been claimed that Ikechukwu Ogbonna, also known as IVD, a celebrity car trader, was detained at Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
On his way to Qatar for his wedding to controversial self-acclaimed relationship expert Blessing CEO, IVD was reportedly arrested and imprisoned by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions on Friday.
Stella Dimoko-Korkus responded to the widely shared news on Saturday by revealing on Instagram that IVD’s detention was related to the passing of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
“Domestic Violence case against him regarding his late wife is still in court. IVD is not supposed to leave Nigeria until the case is over,” Stella Dimoko-Korkus said.
Bimbo passed away in October 2022 as a consequence of injuries he received in a fire that broke out in their Lagos home as a result of domestic abuse.
In suit No. LD/21055C/23, the Lagos State Government accused IVD of one count of involuntary manslaughter.
