
The Lagos government’s decision to rename the well-known Charly Boy Bus Stop in Bariga to Olamide Baddo Bus Stop in honor of rapper and Bariga native Olamide Adedeji has prompted a response from veteran musician Charles Oputa, better known by his stage name Charly Boy.
In a Saturday chat, Charly Boy responded to the news with the simple statement, “Na dem sabi.”

The announcement was made public on Friday during the Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) local project commissioning.

Other places in Bariga were also renamed after prominent Nigerians, particularly those in the entertainment and sports sectors, in addition to the Charly Boy Bus Stop being changed to Baddo Bus Stop.

To honor the Juju music icon, Ilaje Road has been renamed King Sunny Ade Road.
In honor of the Nigerian president and former governor of Lagos, Bariga Road has been renamed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way.
According to the current Lagos Governor, Community Road in Akoka is now Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Road.
Olamide Adedeji (Baddo) Street emerges off Ajidagan Street.
In honor of the musician 9ice, Ifeanyi Street has been renamed Abolore Akande (9ice) Street.
To honor the Afro-pop icon, Tony Tetuila Street has been renamed from Ayodele Street in Ladi-Lak.
Bukayo Saka Street, named for the Nigerian football star who played for Arsenal and England, has replaced Ilojo Crescent in Obanikoro.
