Nancy Isime, a TV personality and Nollywood actress, has revealed a touching account of her early years as a struggling usher and model.
At the age of 17, Isime disclosed in a touching social media post that she frequently had late-night jobs without a way to get home, which forced her to sleep on chairs and rugs at event sites or walk great distances.
“Yes, my family was always worried, especially my dad, but I’m a dangerous gyal and it’s best to let me figure out life my way, else the rebellion is quite rebellious,” the actress stated.
Nancy said that during this trying period, she went to musician Yemi Alade, whom she had met through a shared social group, and asked for temporary housing.
According to the TV presenter, Yemi accepted her into her house right away and let her remain for weeks without raising any issues.
“This woman never once complained during the weeks I was there. The calm was actually too much, she recalled.
Isime conveyed her sincere appreciation for the singer’s generosity, characterizing her as calm, thoughtful, and uplifting.
She stated, “Many years later, I still have the softest spot for Yemi and will eternally be grateful to her for being one of the bookmarks of kindness and generosity in my life.”
Isime disclosed that their friendship grew stronger after she was accepted to the university and was able to get her own apartment in the same building as Yemi.
