Scott Iguma, a well-known media figure, has been placed under detention in jail.
On Thursday afternoon, the Lagos State High Court in Ikoyi issued an order remanding Scott Iguma to prison.
The influencer was taken into custody at Panti Police Station on Wednesday after claiming that PWAN, a real estate firm, had defrauded clients.
But in a recent development on Thursday, well-known Nigerian singer Kokopee revealed in an Instagram video that Iguma has been placed under detention in jail till Monday.
Kokopee said, “I’m here in Ikoyi, sadly Scott has been remanded till Monday. He has been remanded for fighting for people. You have a problem with the way he has done it? Did he kill someone? Did he commit a crime?
“In Lagos I thought they said defamation is not a crime?”
According to sources, Scott Iguma said in a series of Instagram postings on Monday that PWAN sells receipts to clients rather than real estate. Yesterday, I returned to the EFCC to file 25 more petitions against PWAN. There are currently 130 customer petitions against PWAN that have been submitted to the EFCC.
“And we have about 30 victims that we have not filed their petition. Day after day, more victims are still coming to my DM and telling me the atrocities that they have gone through.”
