The father of the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, has disclosed information about the circumstances behind his son’s passing.
According to Aloba, who was interviewed by social media activist Vincent Otse Martins, better known online as VeryDarkMan, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on that fatal day, Mohbad’s mother called to let him know that the late singer was ill and in the hospital.
According to the late singer’s father, he quickly arranged to meet them at the hospital so he could be by his son’s side.
But Aloba recalled that when he got to the hospital, the story abruptly changed, and instead of seeing his son, Mohbad’s uncle Darosha informed him that the late singer was getting better and that he could go back home.
Aloba said, “On the 12th of september, Iya Mohbad called me around 4:30 pm to tell me that my son is not well and is being hospitalized, so I told her I am at a bus stop she should come and meet me so we can go and meet my son where he is. When we got to Osapa London, Darosha Iya told me that my son is getting better now and I can go home around 7:00 pm.”
He claimed that the change in information made him uncomfortable and made him think that something was seriously amiss.
“I was already sensing my son was dead, because of how they kept calling me that my son is not well and all of a sudden they said he was fine that I can go back,” he explained.
Aloba went on to say that his suspicions were heightened when he first arrived to the residence and discovered that the entrance was blocked, preventing him from entering.
He claimed that he was confronted with the harsh truth of the situation when he eventually made his way upstairs, where he and the late singer Mohbad typically met.
“I decided to go with them to the house because I wanted to attend a meeting, when I got there, they blocked the entrance, I started introducing myself so I can get space to move, because the place was crowded.
“So when I went upstairs because that is where I and Mohbad usually met, I noticed that the duvet was soaked in blood,” Aloba recounted.
He further disclosed that he was refused access to the police report after making his statement at the police station, reportedly due to his failure to notify his son’s death right away.
“We went to the police station. When I was giving my statement, someone came out and said they should not give me the police report because I did not report his death on time.”
He asserted that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, had the doctor’s report but remained silent about it.
According to Aloba, his son’s body was embalmed at home without his permission, and the morgue that evening refused to take it.
