Terry G, a Nigerian artist, has finally addressed claims that he stole the popular song “Pass Me Your Love” from his coworker and collaborator, AY.Com.
According to DAILY POST, Terry G was criticized for playing the song at his previous gigs, where he was a guest artist. By often playing the song at events, he was accused by critics of stealing it from AY.Com.
Terry G recently addressed the long-standing accusations on his X handle, calling them “pure ignorance” and claiming that he has every right to perform a song on which he was featured.
He also claimed that AY.Com’s career declined as a result of the publicity surrounding the purported hijacking.
Terry G wrote: “To those saying I stole ‘Pass Me Your Love’ from Ay.com— that’s pure ignorance. So I don’t have the right to perform a song I collaborated on? Your favourite artists do it all the time, but when it’s me, it becomes a problem. Hypocrisy at its finest.
“And no, I didn’t put the song on my album — it was never about ownership, it was about collaboration.
“Some of you ruined AY’s moment with your noise, not me. As for my shine, nobody can block it. You no reach.”
