Musician Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, better known by his stage name Reekado Banks, recently brought up his feud with Wizkid.
He (Reekado Banks) was asked some questions about Wizkid’s 2020 blast in a podcast, which led to some revelations.
Remember how Wizkid attacked Reekado Banks in 2020 after the latter posted about releasing new music called Omo Olomo, amid the nation’s heightened tensions following the #EndSARS incident?
Wizkid went on to call Reekado a clout animal and a moron.
Given this, the journalist inquired about Reekado Banks’ feelings regarding the hot blast that Big Wiz had given him. The 31-year-old replied that it wasn’t a pleasant experience. He went on to say that his management convinced him to release the song even though he had originally opposed it.
He said,
Not the nicest, especially considering I didn’t want to put the music out. I had urged my management at the time not to put it out, but they were convinced that it wasn’t a problem… It was so bad at the time. I was able to move on from it.”
The podcaster then asked Reekado Banks whether he had had a chance to tell Wizkid how the situation actually transpired. Reekado said that Big Wiz had recently stopped by his eatery and they had a brief conversation. Wizkid genuinely regrets approaching him in that way, he said.
He went on to say that Starboy also apologized for his online abuse of Don Jazzy, which included calling him an influencer a few months prior.
He said:
“Recently, he came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk, and he was a little regretful about it. He was like he shouldn’t have gone that route. He mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy as well, and he was like we are three people in the game that have only recently lost our moms. He feels sorry about the time and it’s good now.”
