An emotional interview with Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, in which she expressed her love for her deceased mother, has gone viral online.
The movie star offered touching insights about her family when appearing as a guest on her coworker Nancy Isime’s show.
Funke was questioned about her mother’s impact on her career throughout the interview. She described how her mother was crucial to the beginning of her acting career. Funke’s mother wholeheartedly supported her choice to become an actor, even though her father wanted her to become a lawyer.
Akindele remembered how her mother would take her to auditions in a Peugeot without air conditioning and would even inquire about the types of roles she was receiving.
Her mother urged her to accept the parts, even if they didn’t seem important.
Funke broke down in tears as she talked about her mother and conveyed her gratitude for the love and care she received from her.
She thought about how, in spite of her struggles, her mother had raised her properly and given her all she needed.
The movie star also talked about her father, saying that although her parents didn’t get along and parted ways, her father tried his hardest to nurture her and her siblings.
Funke characterized herself as a strong kid who occasionally rebelled against her mother while growing up. In spite of this, her mother brought up all of her kids effectively, striking a balance between firmness and kindness.
