Grammy-winning Nigerian musician Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, stated that he is currently thinking about becoming a parent.
Speaking on Wednesday night at his 34th birthday celebration in Lagos, the singer said he needed to start forming habits with his kids because he was growing older.
He claimed that after speaking with Jowizaza, an oil magnet, he made the decision.
“Na so Jowizaza follow me talk the last time, I come dey think about my life. Omo, I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikins,” Burna Boy said in pidgin.
It can be recalled that Burna Boy revealed in May last year that he wasn’t ready to have children yet, stressing that he can’t give them the attention they deserve.
The ‘Tatata’ hitmaker explained that he would have children when he was settled or married.
Burna Boy made this admission about a year after he openly stated that he was not ready to have children and that he wanted to wait until he was ready to devote all of his time to them.
He informed supporters in May 2023 that fatherhood was not yet an option:
“I can’t have kids now and not be there for them. When I settle down or get married, then yes.”
But after reflecting on his recent birthday and talking to Jowizaza, Burna Boy says he’s reassessing his priorities, and his fans are all for it.
