A Nigerian guy has stirred emotions with his grace-to-grass story by claiming to be Saliu Maja, a wealthy car entrepreneur about whom Nigerian Fuji master King Wasi Ayinde Marshall, also known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, used to sing.
The man described how he was once quite wealthy but disregarded his father’s suggestion to invest in real estate in a video posted by content artist Charismatic Oba.
The man related how, in 1996, he and a companion were deported to Nigeria after they became embroiled in a dubious company while traveling to Canada.
He recalled how he was unable to see KWAM 1 when he attempted to see him during the singer’s 40th birthday celebration.
Saliu stated he had to resort to hawking bottled beverages for a profession because he had to take care of his four kids. According to the man, he makes approximately N5,000 in a day and squats with people because he doesn’t have a house.
While asking with Nigerians to come to his aid, he hinted at his dream of returning back to selling vehicle parts.
“This thing called life is often filled with mysteries, it is even more scary that no one can fully determine what the outcome of a simple and straightforward decision can possibly be… Since I started this #streetinterview journey, I have come to appreciate people and their efforts more, some fought for as much as they could but still end up being where they don’t want to be. It is a sad world.”
