Immanuela Chinonyelum Nwaigwe, a Nigerian woman, has stated that she prefers to work out at home rather than at the gym because she doesn’t want any male who isn’t her spouse to witness her ups and downs.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Nwaigwe revealed that she had previously considered joining a gym but had changed her mind after observing the teacher and two other men working out.
She wrote: “So I finally went to check out a gym. They told me their fee, which isn’t my problem. But then, the instructor is a guy, big muscles and all. I looked around, saw some women just leaving, as I came late. Remaining two guys lifting weights and recording themselves. The man was like, when are you starting? I told him, “You’ll hear from me sir” This morning, I woke up and wore my gym attire and boots, got some gym videos on Instagram and worked out for an hour. Call me old fashioned, but I don’t want any man that’s not my husband seeing me bounce up and down. No thank you!”
