VeryDarkMan (VDM), a controversial activist and social critic, has provided an update on his late-night encounter in Abuja with Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy.
Known for dragging politicians and celebrities alike, VDM posted on Instagram that he and Burna Boy had a heart-to-heart talk about the Ratel Movement and Nigeria’s future rather than ladies, fame, or money.
Recall that Burna, Wizkid, and Davido were criticized by VDM for showing off their affluence at a time when Nigerians are struggling.
VDM claims that on Saturday, June 28, 2025, he and Burna Boy met at a club and continued to converse till dawn. He cited Burna Boy in the post as saying:
“I don’t mind the criticism, so long as it’s real. And I know you are very real, VDM.”
According to reports, Burna went on to complain that Nigerians like seeing “good people fall” and urged VDM to continue his activity. VDM revealed, much to the surprise of many fans, that they talked for hours about Nigeria, Africa, and how to solve its issues. He went on to say that only hope for change and national transformation was discussed, not girls, fancy vehicles, or politics.
According to VDM, Burna Boy concluded the discussion by stating, “Nigeria go better.” Additionally, he commended VDM’s Ratel Movement, a youth-led advocacy effort that is becoming more and more well-known in Nigeria and the diaspora.
