How come our sisters are only married by Igbo men? On TikTok, a South African woman criticizes other Nigerian tribes.

When a South African lady questioned why most of the men she sees marrying South African women on TikTok are Igbo, she sparked a conversation on the platform.

According to her

“You open TikTok, you find a South African getting married to a Nigerian. Nine times out of ten, that man is Igbo. I don’t remember when last I saw a Hausa man, a Yoruba man, an Edo man… Nine times out of ten, it’s an Igbo guy.”

She then addressed the other Nigerian tribes, saying:

“My Yoruba brothers, my Hausa brothers — the few we have in South Africa — my Edo brothers, what’s going on? Why are you not marrying my sisters? You can’t just be dashing these women babies and not doing the needful. Igbo men are coming through strong.”
