After months of abandoning his church, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie announced its rebirth, which sparked backlash on the internet.
The actress, who recently had a baby, started True Salvation Ministry, an online ministry, in early 2024 but stopped doing anything after just a few services.
Edochie claimed to work miracles throughout its brief existence, and at least one woman testified in public about being healed during a ceremony.
The movie star recently announced on Instagram that he is resuming his ministry activities, but under the new name and guidance of True Gospel and Eternal Salvation Ministry.
The actor clarified that his redesigned ministry would combine Christian doctrine with traditional beliefs. He made the announcement on a promotional brochure in traditional clothing, referring to himself as both a prophet and a traditionalist.
Many Nigerians on the internet took issue with this change, particularly since Yul had earlier stated that God had told him to resume his traditional ways. Since then, the news has generated a range of responses, some of which have questioned the spiritual validity of his changing course.
