Illbliss, a seasoned Nigerian rapper, has advised new musicians not to rely only on their own abilities.
In order to support them during difficult financial circumstances, he suggested that they acquire a talent and work a side job. In response to a widely shared video from a recent interview with music executive Ayo Animashaun, he offered the advice.
According to reports, only a small percentage of Nigerian musicians are earning enormous sums of money from their music, as Animashaun clarified in the video.
“A lot of artists are not making money. You say artists are making money — you can’t count ten,” he said.
