In response to the deaths in Benue State, Nigerian controversial artist Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable Zazu, gave advise to Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, a social media figure and critic.
In a video posted on Thursday, June 19, Portable voiced his worries about VeryDarkMan’s safety and suggested that the critic use security details in order to continue advocating for the Benue people.
remembers claiming that VeryDarkMan recorded himself at the Benue crime scene. The critic was also seen speaking to state demonstrators in a number of YouTube videos.
Additionally, Portable made subtle jabs at Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage name 2Baba, accusing him of pleading for love while his people in Benue are being murdered.
“Edo man VeryDarkMan is fighting for Benue, while Benue man 2Baba is begging for love,” Portable said in the video.
Additionally, the Zazu crooner promoted the idea of celebrities standing up for their respective states. As you may remember, 2Baba and his wife, Edo legislator Natasha Osawaru, produced a film in which they urged the federal and state governments to step in and stop the killings in Benue.
