Ryan Taylor, a British boxer, has replied to criticism from Nigerians on a remark he made about his former partner, Florence Otedola, also known as DJ Cuppy.
Taylor’s Father’s Day celebration on Instagram on Sunday sparked the issue.
He posted a picture of himself with his daughter and expressed his wish to have mixed-race kids in order to combat racism.
Taylor took offense at the disc jockey after a social media user made a comment about how much his child looked like his ex-partner, DJ Cuppy.
“She wasn’t a woman enough to even imagine making such a beautiful creation as mine,” he stated. Please don’t come back and leave me.
Since then, there has apparently been criticism against Taylor’s comment about his ex-fiance.
Taylor responded to the ensuing criticism by saying that he and his current partner are being targeted by Nigerians.
Taylor claimed that he has the right to say whatever he wants to say, as he had never signed any contract limiting his freedom of speech.
His words read, “Today is a special day. Nigerians gotta chill out, you come for the mother of my child and think I won’t back it? Don’t come on my page talking shit and cry when I speak. I NEVER signed the Contract. I will always say what I want and do what is right for me or my family. I haven’t said shit yet everyone gotta chill.”
