Bishop Umoh, also known as Okon Lagos, is a Nigerian comic actor who has voiced his thoughts on the trend of young Nigerian men marrying much older women from the diaspora. Naturally, he did so with a healthy dose of sarcasm and humor!
The elderly actor humorously “prophesied” long life and good health for all the older women being flown into Nigeria for marriage by young guys after passports and fortune in a new video that is currently doing the rounds online.
He said, with his signature dramatic tone, “You see all this trend… these are our young young boys, I understand economy no good. But to go and bring ancestress to Ikoyi Registry?”
Bishop Umoh continued after that. In a humorous way, praying for the elder ladies by saying that they would not die but would instead live long enough to proclaim the Lord’s works—not in their own generation, but in the generation of their young husbands.
“If I be a man of God… those women you bring, may long life and prosperity follow them. Nothing will happen to them o! If anybody must go, well… your guess is as good as mine,” he added.
The comic star’s video shows a lot of Nigerian’s expectations of marrying abroad and later being left with the properties, inheritance and residence of the foreigner when the older spouse passes away.
But Bishop Umoh affirmed that such, won’t work.
