Davido, the previous head of his record company, reportedly assisted well-known Nigerian musician Mayorkun in landing a contract with Sony Music Africa.
According to the DAILY POST, Mayorkun secured a record deal with Davido Music World, or DMW, in 2016. In 2021, he broke with the label.
It was assumed that there were tense relations between them after he left David’s label to work for Sony Music West Africa.
But the singer revealed in an interview with 3Music TV that Davido was instrumental in closing the contract with his new label.
“I currently work with Sony Africa in addition to my label. Also, kudos to Davido, who made the agreement possible,” Mayorkun said.
