Christians have been warned by Helen Ukpabio not to wish someone a “happy birthday” on their birth anniversary.
As she preached to her followers, the evangelist made this statement.
“I’m not someone who celebrates my birthday every year, every year, like a zombie,” she stated. Additionally, I don’t sell my soul to Satan in that way. I don’t speak in devilish terms. It’s ‘thanking God at 60’ instead of a birthday. ‘Happy birthday’ is what you folks are saying.
She even went so far as to denounce Christians who perform “Happy Birthday” on the altar of God.
She recommended saying “happy Thanksgiving” instead of “happy birthday.”
“Happy birthday” is “modern day idolatory,” she said.
“All of these things are idolatry, Satan giving us a language,” she continued. Furthermore, the Bible advises against using their language, mentioning their god’s name, or participating in their rituals.
Christians must carefully consider everything they say before speaking, she said, or else others will “transfer your good intentions of Thanksgiving to another intent of honoring the day.”
“Nobody has right to the day, every day belongs to Jesus,” she responded.
