Iyabo Ojo, a Nigerian actress, has refuted reports that her daughter Priscilla Ojo’s wedding was funded by the Tanzanian government.
This comes after Priscilla was cautioned by Tanzanian media personality Mange Kimambi to refrain from sharing romantic photos and videos online until after Tanzania’s upcoming elections.
Iyabo Ojo responded in a long Instagram post, calling the Kimambi warning an attempt to scare Priscilla and her husband, singer Juma Jux.
The actress warned Kimambi to part from Priscilla’s affairs, saying “I don’t joke with my daughter”.
Also addressing the viral rumours that Priscilla’s wedding was funded by Tanzanian government, Ojo described the speculation as false, stating that Nigerians funded the elaborate wedding.
“@mangekimambi80 I am appalled by your audacity! Calling my daughter and her husband’s content stupid. You trying to drum fear & intimidation is unacceptable. Keep her out of your affairs. My daughter will post what she likes.
“Regarding the wedding rumors, it is not your government that gave us the money. It is a tradition in my family. I want an elaborate wedding for my daughter in Nigeria, and we, the Nigerians, gave her one”, she said.
