Actor Gideon Okeke has responded to the widely shared scandal involving House on the Rock Church Senior Pastor Paul Adefarasin.
Remember how a video uploaded by a content creator from Lagos seems to show Adefarasin sitting in his car with what some viewers assume is a gun?
The footage started with Adefarasin’s Range Rover slowing down close to the videographer, according to a previous report by Legit.ng. The content creator welcomes the preacher as the window rolls down.
Adefarasin, however, gave a firm reply while brandishing what has been mistakenly believed to be a firearm. As the car leaves, the videographer hurriedly apologizes.
Adefarasin was accused of flaunting a firearm in public by many in the online backlash that followed the video. Adefarasin, however, refuted the accusations in a social media message, making it clear that the item he was holding was not a weapon.
The actor criticized Nigerians for criticizing the pastor in the video, which has now gone viral online, but cattle rearers are allowed to do the same without facing any consequences.
Gideon wrote on Instagram: “Why does a cattle herdsman get a pass to carry mechetes, daggers and charms openly. i mean roam freely infront of police sef, for the protection of their lives and property. Cattle rearer and pastor…are they not equal citizens.”
