Online comments have been triggered by Nollywood star Bimbo Akintola’s revelation of an unprecedented account of fellow actress Iyabo Ojo’s early acting career.
The seasoned screen diva recently shared on a podcast that she first met Iyabo when the now-famous actress was barely 19 years old, full of aspirations and enthusiasm.
Bimbo stated:
“She came to my house. She was very young, and I asked, ‘What do you want?’ She said she wanted to act. She was 19 when we met”
Akintola clarified that she was impressed by Iyabo’s bravery and the lengths she would go to in order to fulfill her acting ambitions.
She claims Iyabo was tenacious and unyielding, traits that ultimately helped her become famous. She also said:
“What I like is that she went the extra mile to fulfill her acting dream”
But the narrative took a sharp turn. According to Bimbo, she assisted Iyabo in landing a leading role in a film, which was a significant opportunity at the time. However, she was quite disappointed when the young actress showed up pregnant.
“Iyabo offended me when I got her a lead role,” she disclosed. Although I don’t ask for roles, I did it for her. She was expecting a child. Bimbo expressed both disappointment and appreciation for Iyabo’s subsequent achievements, even though she didn’t reveal how their relationship ended following the incident.
