The first African album to reach three billion plays on YouTube Music is Rema’s “Rave & Roses Ultra.”
On the streaming service YouTube Music, Nigerian artist Divine Ikubor, better known by her stage name Rema, has set an African first.
This comes as his first album, “Rave & Roses,” in its extreme version, becomes the first African project to reach the 3 billion stream milestone on the site.
“Rave & Roses” has received over 3 billion plays on YouTube Music, according to a check conducted on Wednesday.
The majority of streams were from the hit song “Calm Down” and its remix featuring American diva Selena Gomez.
With 3.9 billion plays, “Rose & Roses Ultra” is also the most streamed African album on Spotify.
It is the only Nigerian project to reach the 2 billion milestone on the platform and the first album from Africa to do so.
