The notorious artist Darlington Okoye, better known by his stage name Speed Darlington, has been called by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) due to charges of sexual misbehavior involving a minor.
In a recent Instagram Live session, the musician claimed to have had a sexual experience with a 15-year-old girl. This action comes after his remarks.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, or DSVA, informed NAPTIP of the situation and demanded a prompt and comprehensive examination of the alarming allegations.

In the wake of the outcry, Speed Darlington released a follow-up video, saying the contentious statement was part of a promotional campaign for a new song. He also apologized for any offence or distress his statements may have caused.
NAPTIP stated that it had called the singer in for interrogation in a statement released on Thursday. The agency also said that if he didn’t accept the invitation, it would take the proper legal measures.
In every instance of suspected sexual abuse or exploitation, NAPTIP reaffirmed its dedication to protecting children’s rights and guaranteeing responsibility.
