A Nigerian man’s amusing story of being abruptly removed from an event by security guards for merely yawning—ostensibly over the head of the Deputy Governor of Ogun State—went popular on social media.
Ayotunde Bello described the strange encounter in a post on X (previously Twitter), stating that he had been at an event on Sunday when he yawned and stretched with his arms outstretched. Shortly afterward, he was gently hoisted by two or three guys and moved roughly seven feet from where he had been.
He added laughing emojis to show his shock as he stated, “Guys, apparently they were bodyguards & I yawned over the head of the Deputy Governor of Ogun State.”
Bello also talked about the bizarre experience of being carried, claiming that he kept asking, “What’s happening?” but only had comfort from the men who repeatedly said, “Don’t worry, don’t worry.”
