Verydarkman (VDM), a social media activist, has reacted to remarks made by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Anambra State Police regarding him.
During a recent visit to a drug market in Anambra state, the controversial activist assured the dealers that he would assist them in pursuing justice for the alleged abuse by NAFDAC.
The state police eventually issued a warning and charged him with attempting to instigate the traders. In a statement concerning him, NAFDAC also urged security agencies to look into the situation.
VDM, who was allegedly spotted recently in his hotel room with a “body part,” recently criticized the police and NAFDAC for their remarks in a video.
Insisting that Nigerians should be aware that NAFDAC was allegedly extorting money from the drug dealers, he expressed relief that he was not charged with lying.
VDM asserted in the video that NAFDAC obtained N700,000 from Anambra State drug dealers. He said that the agency had extorted money from roughly 1,000 persons and showed a trader’s payment receipt.
VDM further contended that NAFDAC was facilitating the harm of scammers to Nigerians if they were taking money from people who were accused of selling counterfeit drugs.
He referred to NAFDAC as more crooks than the people they accused of peddling counterfeit medications.
VDM made it clear that his goal was to raise awareness so that traders could demonstrate and defend their rights, not to incite them against the public.
