Taaooma, a well-known Nigerian comedian and sketch creator, has sent social media into a frenzy with a heated and cryptic tweet directed at an unidentified “rap legend” who is getting close to 50 years old.
Recall that among the Nigerian content producers that paid taxes to the US government was the skitmaker.
Her tweet read: “There’s this stupid ‘rap legend’ that God will help me to punish. Pushing 50 ee de nironu.”
The Yoruba phrase “pushing 50 ee de nironu,” which roughly translates as “almost 50 and still not wise,” provided a powerful dose of sarcasm that had everyone talking, even if she did not name the musician.
Fans and followers quickly flooded their timelines with ideas and theories about the person Taaoma might be alluding to within minutes of the tweet.

The rumors swiftly descended into a contentious discussion, with many criticizing some of Nigeria’s more seasoned rap artists.
Given his age and established notoriety in the rap culture, some believe Eedris Abdulkareem was the target of the shot. Fans pointed out that some of the artists mentioned are already over 50, but others recommended MI Abaga, Blackface, or even Reminisce.
Some of the response;
@DonSilsz commented: “People mentioning Eedris, man isn’t pushing 50, he’s over 50.”
@MolanoHybrd noted: “Oga if you won’t tag, don’t bring this kind matter here.”
@RoiyConsult stated: “There are plenty Nigerian rap legends pushing 50, so be specific so we can help if he trespassed.”
@BusyBreathing12 wrote: “Small toast, you don burn the bread. This one na serious shade.”
