Skales, a Nigerian musician, has refuted a widely circulated rumor that he divorced his wife due to a remark she made on one of his social media posts.
The artist denounced the fake allegation on X (previously Twitter), calling it “really evil” and “not fair.”
“I have never made such statement and this is false… pls stop spreading lies,” he wrote while reposting the fake quote by @VERITY_HQ.
The now-viral tweet falsely quoted Skales as saying:
“I divorced my wife because of a comment she made on my post and I don’t regret it… People cannot be mocking your husband’s music career… and you join.”
Skales firmly denied ever making such a statement and warned blogs and media outlets to stop fabricating stories about his personal life.
