
Rabi’a Labaran, a 23-year-old housewife, was taken into custody by the Katsina State Police Command for stabbing her co-wife to death in the state’s Daura Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Sunday, May 25, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the command spokesperson, said that a domestic argument involving co-wives turned into a deadly altercation behind Dadi Primary School in the Sabon Gari Area of Daura town.

The statement recalled that on May 24, 2025, at approximately 11 p.m., the husband, Nasir Yusuf, reported to the Sabon Gari Division that he had come home from the market and discovered his first wife, Zainab Lawal ‘F,’ 30, lying in a pool of blood after she had been stabbed several times with a knife.
“Her co-wife, Rabi’a Labaran ‘Female’, 23, of the same home, was detained in connection with the crime during the investigation. She admitted to committing the crime and said that a miscommunication with the deceased caused a fight and the unfortunate event. The investigation is still going on.
“As soon as the DPO received the report, he led a team of officers to the scene and took the victim to Federal Medical Centre, Daura, where the attending physician declared her dead.
Her co-wife, Rabi’a Labaran ‘F’, 23, of the same address, was arrested in connection with the crime and confessed to committing the crime, claiming that a miscommunication with the deceased caused a fight and the tragic event. The investigation is still ongoing.”
