A man took the nation that refused him a visa to court, and the ruling favored him.
Jean Mboulè had submitted applications for both his wife’s and his own Schengen permits.
Despite fulfilling the standards, Jean Mboule’s visa application was rejected.
He was perplexed as to why he received a negative reaction when his wife’s visa application was approved while his own was rejected.
Mboulè, who resides with his spouse in South Africa, sought for the Schengen visas via the French consulate there.
Mboulè is from Cameroon, but he was born in France, while his wife is from South Africa.
Using the same financial figures and paperwork as his wife, whose visa application was approved while his was rejected, he made the decision to not let the denial go unnoticed.
In France, Mboulè took the embassy to court, and the case was ultimately resolved in his favor as it was reported that he won €1,200 (N2.1 million). According to him, the visa application was submitted in 2022.
The French Embassy in Johannesburg was compelled to give him the money and the visa after he won the case.
Despite using the documents to issue his wife a visa, Mboulé said the French embassy claimed the documents he submitted were fraudulent.
