Ekene Umenwa, a well-known actress from Nigeria, has disclosed that she was allegedly advised by a Nollywood clique to exchange her Christian beliefs for fame.
She revealed this information in an Instagram post, on Wednesday.
Umenwa said how the anonymous people put pressure on her, but she refused to compromise her religion and turn back to Jesus, whom he called her father, for solace.
Sharing a video of herself vibing to the iconic gospel song, ‘No Turning Back,’ she stated, “When I came to Nollywood many years ago with my Jesus, some people told me to drop Jesus and Mary and go with the flow so that I could make it.” This game isn’t Jesus Jesus, they said.
“I thought, Chimo, is that right? Never. Jesus instructed me to go ahead when I ran to my father. I’m grateful that so many people have joined me in sharing the gospel in Nollywood today.
According to reports, the actress rose to fame as a result of her performance in the 2013 film Black Choir. and has been in more than 100 movies.
