The government of Edo State announced on Thursday that it had discovered a brothel within a primary school located in the state’s Esan West Local Government Area.
According to the administration, the brothel has also been sealed.
Eugene Okolosie, the State Coordinator for the Protection of Government Property (PGP), revealed the event during a press briefing in Benin City.
Okolosie further claimed that over 2,000 parcels of land encroached upon have also been recovered from land grabbers in the state.
He claimed that more than 150,000 homes in the state were constructed on property owned by the government.
After the community informed us that land grabbers had falsified their signatures, we took action and reclaimed over 90% of the land, including school property.
For instance, Okolosie stated, “They constructed a brothel inside Ujuele Primary School, and we have sealed it. Some of these properties will be converted, and we are currently discussing the matter with the governor.”
