What's the Major Confusion About Nigeria’s ZIP code? Lets see below

Knowing what is the correct Nigeria ZIP code before applying for anything is the dope thing to do. This is because your application is important to you and you don't want to make that mistake of giving a wrong detail especially one which is as important as NIGERIA POSTAL CODE.

What is Nigeria's Zip Code?

ZIP which stands for Zone Improvement Plan is only applicable to the US while other countries including Nigeria uses postal codes while filling an online form or any form which requires a ZIP/Postal codes.

Both the Postal codes and Zip Codes are used mainly for mailing purposes. In conclusion, one can easily say that ZIP is for US while postal codes for other countries of the world.

United States Postal Service (USPS)

Importantly, you should note that USPS which stands for United States Postal Service has special codes for overseas countries. USPS is used when handling deliveries of any kinda material.

These USPS codes are the most equivalent to the ZIP codes which they use in the United State of America.

The USPS code for Nigeria is this 00176-0000.

How to Fill form Requesting for ZIP code

If you are like me that fills at least one online form a week, you should definitely learn how to use the USPS codes. Lets get straight to the point,  use any of this two numbers:
  • 110001
  • 23401

In some cases, the two numbers might not work for you (This depends on the site). If you encounter such problem, use this number => 00176
Try using the numbers given below and at least one will work for you. I hope you say me thank you in the comment box below.

Conclusion:

Please do not mistake 234 for ZIP code... +234 is the Nigerian Dialing Code. Use 23401 or 110001 or 00176 as the Nigerian Zip code.
